Launching a band right in the middle of a global pandemic is not something that heavy-hitting newcomers FORLORN could have anticipated when they first introduced themselves to the world in February 2020. Nevertheless, they have since released four singles, signed to record label Silent Cult and continued to build momentum against all the odds.
Whilst their first four offerings served as an introduction to the band’s multi-faceted sound and showcased their ability to toe the line between the crushingly heavy and the atmospheric, Forlorn have now undoubtedly ascended to the next level with single ‘Old Wounds’.
Once again produced by George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Thornhill), ‘Old Wounds’ marks the beginning of a fresh, compelling and altogether darker chapter for the band.
Of the upcoming single, the band comments:
“Whilst our initial releases offered us the opportunity to experiment with different Metal subgenres, it’s become very clear to us which path resonates with us the most. ‘Old Wounds’ really encompasses the all-new Forlorn that we’ve spent the last year working on; it’s relentlessly heavy and dark but it’s also ethereal, cinematic and very, very personal. 2021 was a chance for us forge a new image and a new sound and we’re looking forward to opening our circle and inviting our listeners in.”
