Air Drawn Dagger join the Silent Cult family!
Sheffield three-piece electro-emo, angst-pop collective Air Drawn Dagger have announced their new EP ‘Songs To Fight The Gods To’, out 13th October via Silent Cult Records, and released a music video for ‘You Should Have Known Better’.
“This song is the perfect track to decrown the patriarchy to. At the heart of it, it’s a song about feminine rage but it’s truly for anyone who knows all too well that burning in the centre of your chest that makes you want to scream and cry but if you start you might never stop. For anyone spoken down to, belittled and overlooked. Get angry, let loose and scream like a banshee,” says Maisie (vocals).
The accompanying music video, directed by Aaran Mckenzie of While She Sleeps, sees Maisie being trapped in other worlds, transported to various locations which she reclaims. These spaces are centred around scenarios often deemed “unsafe” specifically for women, e.g. a dark city and secluded woods.“We wanted to create spectacular visuals for this track, incorporating supernatural and sci-fi elements, whilst having a very clear core message,” says Lewis (guitar, backing vocals).
