Fresh from supporting post-industrial rock legends Filter across the UK & Europe on their latest tour, Brighton-based Belmondo have shared news of their debut EP alongside their captivating new track “Ventriloquists”.
The new saw-toothed offering sees Belmondo step into their own, sharpening their grunge/industrial style into an exhilarating, biting new track. Continuing their collaborations with ThreeBroMedia, “Ventriloquists” arrives with a new music video you can watch below.
“At the start of last year I met someone so manipulative that I had to process my experience of them through Ventriloquists” Kelan Moore (Vocals/Guitar) shares “They had this ability to convince people to do whatever they wanted despite being constantly cruel and degrading to them. It was like they were puppets on strings, hence the title. It took some time to get over it but this is my way of saying I’m no longer a puppet on their strings.”
“Ventriloquists” will appear on their forthcoming debut EP, “The Blessed and The Evil”, which has been announced for release on April 26th through Silent Cult. The EP will also feature their previous single “Bethlehem” which received attention from Daniel P Carter on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show, Distorted Sound, V13, Bring The Noise to name a few. Their recent stint on the road has seen them pick up reviews from the likes of RockFlesh, Rock MuZine and more across Europe.
Speaking about their recent experience touring with Filter, Belmondo said “touring with Filter has been incredible and truly a bucket list moment in our lives. Not only are they a direct influence to our band, they have been some of the nicest people we have toured with, Richard and his team are fantastic and genuinely great people to play alongside and hang with. Learning from them and the touring lifestyle has been a game changer for us as well as playing to crowded rooms every night, we couldn’t be more blessed. PS we sold out all of our merch!“
Comprised of Carmen Mellino (vocals/bass), Kelan Moore (vocals/guitar), Laurent Lesaffre (guitar) and Jules Freiss (drums), Belmondo are a force to be reckoned with. Based in Brighton but hailing from France, Switzerland and UK, the band have been winning over audiences with their dynamic live performances and intellectual presentation. Belmondo are set to solidify their position as one of the most intriguing up-and-coming bands from the vibrant alternative scene.
