“‘Take Cover’ is all about themes of perseverance and survival in uncertain times. We started writing these songs in 2020. As bleak as things were then, there was a feeling that maybe, just maybe we could rebuild and reorganise society in a way that would benefit everyone in a fairer way when we emerged. That quickly went out the window and for a lot of people, life is just as desperate as it was then. So lyrically a lot of these songs are underpinned by a sense of frustration and anger that the same old tricks are being played on the public – people’s wages go down, public services suffer and the same fat cats get rich. At the same time, there’s a hopeful manner to these songs and a strong belief that collectively, and united we can claw back some ground and regain our dignity.” – Vocalist, Nick Davis.
